Family Law
The area of Family Law includes divorce and paternity actions. These matters can be very difficult to deal with, especially when minor children are involved. Brandon Stafford knows your children are the most important thing in the world to you, and he has experience in dealing with issues involving your children and their custody and support. He will help you work on a resolution of disputes regarding your children.
Divorce cases involve married persons who wish to dissolve the marriage, and disputes regarding property as well as child custody and support often arise. Property acquired during the marriage is generally deemed to be marital property, subject to some exceptions. In a divorce case, the court is required to identify and divide the marital property pursuant to the factors set forth in Missouri statutes.
In a paternity case, the father of the child is established, and child custody and support is determined.
Sometimes, the circumstances can change so much that the judgment needs to be modified. One or both parties may file a Motion to Modify the Judgment in this situation.
